Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Food Prep / Sandwich Prep team member to join our kitchen. This role is essential to our daily operations, responsible for preparing ingredients, making fresh dough and desserts, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring our kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently.
Primary Responsibilities Food Preparation

• Prepare fresh tigella dough daily following traditional Italian recipes
• Make tiramisu and other Italian desserts from scratch
• Prep sandwich ingredients (washing vegetables, preparing spreads etc.)
• Portion and organize ingredients for service
• Assemble sandwiches to order during service hours
• Maintain consistent quality and presentation standards

Inventory & Organization

• Track ingredient levels and notify management of low stock
• Organize refrigerators and dry storage areas
• Properly label all prepared items with dates and contents
• Rotate stock using FIFO (First In, First Out) method
• Assist with receiving and putting away deliveries

Food Safety & Sanitation

• Follow all Florida Health Department food safety regulations
• Maintain proper food storage temperatures
• Label all food items with preparation dates and expiration dates
• Practice proper hand washing and food handling techniques
• Keep prep areas, equipment, and storage areas clean and organized
• Complete daily cleaning tasks and maintain sanitation
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety standards

Kitchen Maintenance

• Clean and sanitize work surfaces, cutting boards, and utensils throughout shift
• Maintain organization of kitchen tools and equipment
• Deep clean equipment and storage areas as scheduled
• Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs

Required Qualifications

• Previous food prep or kitchen experience preferred
• Ability to follow recipes and instructions precisely
• Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
• Reliable and punctual
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Basic math skills for portioning and inventory
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs

Preferred Qualifications

• Food Handler's Certificate (or willing to obtain one)
• Experience with Italian cuisine or baking
• Experience with inventory management

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for 5-hour shifts
• Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs
• Comfortable working in a kitchen environment with varying temperatures
• Manual dexterity for food preparation tasks

Role Summary
The Cashier is the first and last impression our guests have of Ispirazione. You own the front-of-house experience: greeting guests, guiding them through the menu, processing orders accurately, keeping the dining area welcoming, and delivering completed orders to the table. This is a hospitality-first role — product knowledge and genuine warmth are just as important as speed and accuracy.
Guest Experience

• Greet every guest warmly and promptly as they approach the counter
• Guide guests through the menu with confidence, including ingredients, allergens, and pairing suggestions
• Take orders accurately using the Clover POS system
• Deliver completed orders to tables and check in briefly with guests
• Handle guest feedback, questions, or concerns professionally and with a solutions-first attitude

Order & POS Operations

• Process all transactions accurately — cash, card, and mobile payments
• Apply correct discounts (employee, friends-and-family) using proper POS buttons
• Communicate special requests and modifications clearly to the sandwich prep team
• Ensure order accuracy before delivery to the table

Station & Dining Area Upkeep

• Keep the counter, register area, and dining room clean and organized throughout the shift
• Restock front-of-house supplies (napkins, utensils, condiments) proactively
• Assist with opening and closing side work as assigned
• Support the sandwich prep team during rushes as needed

• Friendly, polished communicator who enjoys talking to people
• Quick learner — able to memorize our menu, ingredients, and Italian pronunciations
• Reliable and punctual; we run with a two-person team so your presence counts
• Calm under pressure during lunch rushes
• Organized and detail-oriented with POS and order accuracy
• Prior customer service or food service experience is a plus, not a requirement
